About
Born in Denver, Colorado, Blair Schwartz moved to the Jersey Shore at the age of 12.
It was said that while her brother could destroy anything and her sister could turn anything into a rotary phone. Blair could make anything into art. As a kid she dabbled in photography, drawing and sculpture and when it came time to attend college, she attended Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers and acquired a degree in fine art with a concentration in Drawing and Photography.
After graduating from Mason Gross, Blair wore a lot of hats. She was an elementary school year book photographer, taught photography and drawing to the young, and almost joined a traveling dinosaur circus. Then the pandemic hit and, with the new found freedom, Blair fully focused on the studio, making art and selling it at markets.
It was in this time that tattooing found her. In tattooing Blair found everything she always loved about art. Community, a studio space populated by cool characters, and the ability to communicate with people and find strange and wonderful stories. (Did you know there are squishmellow exchange parties?)
Blair was called into a boardwalk tattoo shop in Wildwood, NJ in July of 2020 where her journey from tattoo lover to artist began. During the season, she moved from henna girl to shop manager and was offered a tattoo apprenticeship.
Blair now works at Brand New Tattoo in Ewing, New Jersey. She enjoys doing fine line, neotradtional, anime/cartoons, cottage core, florals, and any kind of bug. (Her favorites are moths and butterflies)
